Do Pets Grieve?

I do believe pets experience a loss whenever another family member, human or animal, departs from this world. I don’t know if the term grieving is appropriate as it is a term applied to people who can experience that emotion. Nevertheless, there are numerous instances in my practice of pets experiencing what we would call grieving in people upon the loss. Natural remedies including rescue remedy, Nutricalm, and Composure treats can help the pets adapt to this loss and recover more quickly.
